Is there a way to purchase books for my Nook without entering a credit card number?

I just bought a Nook today with my own money, and I tried to download some free books, but it says I can't without entering a credit card number. I'm too young to own a credit card and my parents don't trust me with theirs. Soo basically I was wondering if there is a way around this whole credit card ordeal.
